Weather forecast for January 8, 2024, in Ukraine
On January 8, 2024, significant snowfall is expected in Ukraine, with heavy snow in some areas, as well as blizzards. The reason for such weather conditions will be an active southern cyclone moving from Odesa through the central regions to Sumy.
Temperature contrasts will be noticeable across different regions of the country:
- Western regions, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions: at night the temperature will drop to -7 to -12°C, and during the day it will fluctuate between -2 to -7°C.
- Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions: at night 0 to -5°C is expected, during the day - 0 to +5°C.
- The rest of Ukraine: at night the temperature will be around +1 to +6°C, and during the day - +7 to +12°C.
The wind this day will be southern, with a speed of 7 to 12 m/s, with gusts reaching 15 to 20 m/s. In the Kyiv region, at night 0 to -5°C is forecast, during the day - 0 to +5°C. In Kyiv, at night the temperature will fluctuate from -2 to -4°C, and during the day - from 0 to +2°C.

Cooling is expected from January 9-10. Significant snowfall and blizzards may lead to difficulties in road traffic and problems with electricity supply in some regions. Authorities urge citizens to be cautious and avoid travel in bad weather conditions.
