Anti-Corruption WOW-Express Departed from Kyiv to Brussels: What It Means for Ukraine

Відправлення потяга 'Антикорупційний ВОУ-Експрес' з Києва до Брюсселя: нові можливості для України

On December 9, the lively Anti-Corruption WOW-Express departed from Kyiv to Brussels. Today, on International Anti-Corruption Day, we celebrate Ukraine's achievements in this direction, despite all the challenges facing our country.

Together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Ukrzaliznytsia, we held an event at the exhibition space 'Ukraine WOW' in Kyiv, which tells about the culture, history, and future of Ukraine through interactive installations and artifacts.

Our train passed through five symbolic stations, each marking an important aspect of the fight against corruption: from Kyiv, where an active fight against corruption is underway, to Brussels, which symbolizes European integration.

'In the last ten years, Ukraine has become a country that fights against corruption — and I would add that Ukraine is doing this with efforts not seen in many other countries. When high-profile cases are exposed, it is a sign that the anti-corruption system is working, and independent anti-corruption bodies are cleansing the country of corruption,' said EUACI Director Allan Pag Christensen.

The success of anti-corruption reform is crucial for bringing Ukraine closer to the European Union. The EU provides support in financial, expert, and institutional terms, helping with the implementation of reforms and the fight against corruption.

We continue to support Ukraine on its path to a successful future within the EU, assisting in legislative changes and the development of integrity.

The anti-corruption train does not stop. We are moving forward to a Ukraine that overcomes corruption and becomes stronger.
