Attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure have increased in scale
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 700 attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities have been recorded. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko.
According to the summary, up to 90% of attacks on the energy sector this year were carried out using drones. The need to implement electronic warfare systems and to enhance the capabilities of mobile fire groups for the protection of energy facilities was emphasized. It is also important to develop clear algorithms for allowing emergency responders to access the sites of attack consequences.
The security of energy is the security of every home, hospital, school. And our task is to ensure it at all levels
We remind that last night the Russian Federation attacked the Ukrainian gas infrastructure. Dozens of drones targeted 'Naftogaz' facilities, leading to their destruction. These facilities have no military significance, and this aggression is purely an act of terrorism aimed at intimidating Ukrainians. Russia's goal is to weaken Ukraine, create problems with gas supply, and disrupt preparations for winter. Currently, cleanup operations are underway.
The increase in attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities poses a serious threat to the country, as it can lead to significant disruptions in energy supply to the population, hospitals, schools, and other socially important facilities. Immediate measures must be taken to ensure the security of energy infrastructure and to protect against such attacks in the future.
