Ukraine's Armed Forces and Their Place in Europe's Geopolitical Landscape

In an interview on Yuriy Romanenko's channel, Jacek Bartoszczak, head of the Strategy&Future think tank, highlighted the crucial role of Ukraine's Armed Forces (ZSU) as Europe's primary geopolitical actor. He argued that the ZSU possesses the unique capacity to resist pressure from both the United States and Russia.

Bartoszczak emphasized that Ukraine's military is not just a fighting force but a geopolitical one, around which continental policy is now shaped. He stated that Ukraine's readiness for war makes it the sole power in Europe actively defending its own sovereignty and agency. This perspective comes at a time when European security architecture is being fundamentally reassessed.

'The only real force—not just military, but geopolitical, and the focal point of policy—is the armed forces of Ukraine and its readiness to wage war.' Jacek Bartoszczak

The analyst further noted that it is Ukraine, not other European nations, that is on the path to strengthening its position. This underscores the strategic importance of the ZSU for European security and stability. Consequently, according to Bartoszczak, Ukraine's Armed Forces are critically important in shaping the contemporary geopolitical reality across Europe.

The Importance of Ukraine's Military for Continental Security

Bartoszczak's statements underline the significance of the ZSU not only for Ukraine's domestic security but for the stability of the entire European continent. Amid growing tensions between major powers, Ukraine's role as a geopolitical player is becoming increasingly pivotal. This dynamic could also foster new alliances and alter the relationship between European countries and their global partners.
