Procurement Tenders for Support Equipment
In 2025, Ukraine's Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) announced tenders for support equipment and supplies with a total initial value of nearly 105.6 billion hryvnias. Through competitive bidding processes, the agency successfully reduced the projected costs by 14.8%, saving 15.6 billion hryvnias. This resulted in the signing of over 800 contracts with a final total value of 89.95 billion hryvnias. These savings are particularly significant given the ongoing need to fund Ukraine's defense efforts efficiently.
Savings and Strategic Reallocation
The agency's procurement optimization generated total annual savings of 16 billion hryvnias. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of new approaches within the defense procurement sector. The funds saved can now be redirected to other critical priorities, thereby enhancing the overall readiness and capability of the nation's defense system. This successful optimization serves as an important model for improving cost-efficiency in state procurement, a key concern for governments worldwide. It highlights how strategic reforms can free up substantial resources during a time of national need.
In addition to these procurement reforms, the new centralized catalog for vehicle acquisitions represents a significant step towards enhancing the operational capabilities of Ukraine's Defense Forces. This initiative aims to streamline the procurement process further, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to meet urgent defense needs.
