Sale of assets in Borzhava Meadow

On January 8, 2026, the Agency for Asset Recovery and Management conducted a sale of 460 hectares of land and a ski lift station in Borzhava Meadow for a sum of UAH 89.5 million. These assets were part of a case concerning the embezzlement of funds from the State Investment Project, which occurred from 2012 to 2014, resulting in damages to the state exceeding UAH 259 million.

Details of the deal and compensation for damages

According to information, the lands and station were bought by Ihor Vasyuk and Andriy Vingranovskyi. It is noted that during the operation of the State Investment Project, which was managed by Vladyslav Kaskiv, significant amounts of state funds were embezzled between 2012 and 2014. In July 2024, as part of a plea agreement, the participants in the case agreed to compensate UAH 259 million.

Before the sale, on May 17, 2024, the Agency inspected the assets and announced their sale. The initial cumulative valuation of the land plots was over UAH 1.067 billion. The final valuation of the assets on September 26, 2025, amounted to UAH 347.9 million excluding VAT. During the sale, 245 land plots were sold, including:

  • 208 land plots;
  • the lower station with a chairlift;
  • the upper station of the ski lift;
  • 41 land plots.

This sale is an important step in the fight against corruption in Ukraine, as the state assets that were stolen are being returned to state ownership. Compensation for damages caused by embezzlement and the sale of remaining assets can help improve the financial situation of the state and restore citizens' trust in state institutions. The successful implementation of such assets can also serve as a model for further reforms in the management of state resources.
