Funding Initiative for Ukraine's Agricultural Sector
A new grant program is launching through the State Agrarian Register, offering up to $150,000 USD to support the development of aggregation models in berry and vegetable farming. This initiative is a joint effort by Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture and FAO Ukraine, with financial backing from the European Union. This support is part of broader international efforts to strengthen Ukraine's vital agricultural economy.
The grant funding can be allocated for several key purposes:
- Infrastructure development,
- Product processing,
- Expanding collaboration with small-scale farmers.
The application window for the program is open from March 12 to April 17, 2026. Agricultural producers from the following seven regions are eligible to apply:
- Volyn,
- Zakarpattia,
- Ivano-Frankivsk,
- Lviv,
- Ternopil,
- Khmelnytskyi,
- Chernivtsi.
A critical requirement for participation is that applicants must provide a co-financing contribution covering 30% to 60% of the total project cost.
Objectives of the Grant Program
The primary goal of this funding is to bolster the development of Ukraine's agricultural sector, specifically in berry and vegetable production, which is expected to have a positive economic impact on the participating regions. The EU's financial involvement underscores the importance of international cooperation in rebuilding and modernizing Ukraine's crucial agricultural infrastructure, a key priority for the nation's resilience and future growth.
