As a result of a large-scale shelling on the night of December 13, Odesa remains without electricity supply. However, train services are not interrupted. According to 'Ukrzaliznytsia', reserve locomotives were involved to ensure train movement. This caused delays in the schedule of some departures.
- Train No. 38 Odesa – Uzhhorod: delay +43 min;
- Train No. 26 Odesa – Yasinya: delay +59 min;
- Train No. 12 Odesa – Lviv: delay +42 min;
- Train No. 78 Odesa – Kovel: delay +65 min.
Consequences of the shelling and actions of the authorities
The Odesa railway station, referred to as the 'fortress of resilience', operates around the clock. Passengers have access to electricity and communication. There are also reports of delays on other routes due to false reports of mining. However, so far no threats have been confirmed.
As a result of the shelling, four residents were injured, and residential buildings were damaged, including one located in the historical center of the city. Many areas of the city and region remain without electricity supply, which has caused large-scale disruptions in water and heat supply.
It was noted that Russian forces fired about 300 munitions at Odesa, targeting energy, port, gas, and other facilities in the city.
Response of Ukrainian authorities
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a coordinating meeting with relevant ministries and the leadership of energy companies for an operational response to the consequences of the missile-drone attack on Odesa.
