In Rivne, the implementation of the electronic ticket in public transport is ongoing. The city has started issuing personalized discount cards, without which it is impossible to take advantage of the right to free or discounted travel. Cards need to be applied to validators in transport. This is noted in OGO.
Discount card for travel in Rivne: what has changed
The discount card has effectively become a personal electronic ticket. The reform of public transport in Rivne started back in January 2025 together with the fintech group EasyPay. Currently, validators have been installed in the buses and trolleybuses of KP 'Rivneelektroavtotrans'.
Depending on the discount category, free trips or discounts are automatically credited to the card every month. Unused trips do not accumulate and are canceled at the beginning of a new month. Initially, the cards are received by the beneficiaries, and later general cards for all residents will be available for purchase.
Who can obtain a discount card and where is it issued
More than 30 categories of community residents have the right to a discount card, including internally displaced persons who are registered. Among them:
-
pensioners by age
-
people and children with disabilities
-
participants in hostilities and war veterans
-
members of the families of fallen defenders of Ukraine
-
large families
-
Chernobyl victims of categories 1 and 2
Cards are produced on the day of application. Registration is available at the CNAP in Prosvidy Square and its branches, as well as at the Department of Social Policy at several addresses, separately for pensioners, other beneficiaries, and IDPs. To obtain a card, you need to have a passport, TIN, beneficiary certificate, and mobile phone number.
Let us remind you that in Rivne, significant changes in the public transport system are planned for 2026. An electronic ticket for preferential categories will be introduced on the trolleybus route Rivne-Horodok, which resumed operation on January 6.
