Recently, advertisements for 'profitable' housing rentals have been spreading on the Internet, which are actually fraudulent schemes. According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, scammers create fake pages with enticing photos, offer 'advantageous prices', and demand prepayment. But as soon as the criminals receive the money, they disappear.

How to avoid fraud:

  • Check the authenticity of the advertisement and the landlord's profile.

  • Use reverse image search to determine the origin of the photos.

  • Do not transfer funds without signing a contract and to suspicious accounts.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges: 'Be careful and do not let yourself be deceived.'

It should be noted that the largest increase in offers for the sale of secondary housing has been recorded in the Transcarpathian and Cherkasy regions. However, a noticeable decrease in advertisements has occurred in Volyn and Kyiv.

The Ukrainian police urges citizens to be as careful as possible when choosing housing on the Internet and to follow recommendations to avoid fraud.
