Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that by the end of this year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 3 million units of FPV drones. This is twice as many as they received last year. He emphasized that the importance of unmanned systems on the battlefield is increasing, so the development of such technologies is crucial for the military.
According to Shmyhal, domestic drones make up the majority of the drones used by the Ukrainian military. Only this year, the 'Defense Procurement Agency' delivered 2.4 million FPV drones to the Armed Forces, most of which were acquired under contracts with manufacturers. Additionally, the military received another 200,000 drones through the IT system DOT-Chain Defence, launched in July.
Thus, the increase in the number of unmanned aerial vehicles in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrates the importance of these technologies in modern armed conflicts and the military's interest in advancing the defense industry.
