Ukrainian retirees aged 80 and older can receive a monthly supplement exceeding 1000 UAH if they confirm the need for care. A key condition is the issuance of a special medical conclusion. This is reported by TSN.
This concerns a supplement of 1038 UAH, which is allocated by the Pension Fund of Ukraine for a specific category of elderly people. However, only those who meet clear criteria can receive it.
Pension Supplement 2026: Who is Entitled to 1038 UAH
The right to an increase applies to retirees who simultaneously:
-
live alone
-
do not have able-bodied relatives who should support them
-
need constant external care.
It is important that the location of relatives does not matter – even if they are abroad, it does not cancel the right to the supplement.
Medical Certificate for Pension: How to Obtain an Increase
The main condition for registration is the conclusion of a medical advisory commission. It confirms that a person cannot take care of themselves.
To obtain the certificate, one needs to:
-
contact the family doctor
-
undergo an examination and get a referral
-
pass the medical advisory commission.
Most often, a positive decision is made for people with limited mobility, chronic illnesses, or disabilities.
In 2026, a recalculation of pensions for working retirees is also planned. According to the Pension Fund, it will affect about 650 thousand people. Other categories do not expect significant changes in April, except for age supplements.
Separately, the Pension Fund advises: in case of changes in personal data, it is necessary to inform the fund. Otherwise, there may be delays in payments or even a demand to return overpaid funds.
To remind, additional supplements are established depending on the age of the retirees. Thus, individuals aged 70 to 74 receive an additional 300 UAH monthly, ages 75 to 79 – 456 UAH, and from 80 years and older – 570 UAH. However, these payments are only provided for those whose total pension amount does not exceed 10,340.35 UAH.
