How to Keep Warm in a Cold Apartment: Doctor's Tips for Ukrainians

Doctor Liudmyla Serdyuk provided tips for Ukrainians on how to stay warm in low temperatures during winter. Many apartments in Ukraine remain cold, with temperatures below 20 degrees. Prolonged exposure to such conditions can increase the risk of ARVI and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting the importance of taking measures to maintain a comfortable temperature at home.

Tips for Keeping Warm

To stay warm, it is especially important to pay attention to your feet and neck. The doctor recommends wearing hats even at home, as a significant amount of heat is lost through the head. It is better to sleep in a hat and socks, covered with two blankets, which will help retain heat while sleeping. This week, a drop in temperature is observed in Ukraine, especially at night, with heavy snowfall. Predictions suggest that by the middle of the week, temperatures will drop below -20°C, requiring special attention to heating rooms.

Liudmyla Serdyuk also emphasizes the importance of caution when heating. It is not recommended to use gas cylinders, barbecues, or homemade heaters for heating rooms, as this can be dangerous. To create comfortable conditions in an apartment, the doctor advises:

  • closing doors and gaps;
  • insulating windows and doors with blankets;
  • placing rugs on the floor.
“Good fuel for warming up is food. Soups, porridge, something warm and filling,” said Liudmyla Serdyuk.

Following these simple tips will help Ukrainians stay warm and maintain their health in the cold temperature conditions.

In the context of constant cold and decreasing temperatures in Ukraine, the doctor's advice is extremely relevant. It is important for citizens to be aware of the risks associated with being in cold rooms and to take the necessary measures to ensure their health. Especially now, when a sharp drop in temperatures is forecasted, following the doctor's recommendations can significantly impact the overall health of the population.
