Commemoration of Saint Spyridon, Bishop of Trimythous
Saint Spyridon lived in the 3rd–4th centuries on the island of Cyprus. He started as a simple shepherd, got married, and had children. Due to his righteous life, kindness, and hospitality, he earned the respect of the community and became the Bishop of Trimythous after the death of his wife.
At the First Ecumenical Council in 325 in Nicaea, he participated and performed a powerful miracle, demonstrating the Trinity of God using a brick and its elements (fire, water, earth).
Saint Spyridon is known as a great miracle worker who healed the sick, raised the dead, and helped in financial difficulties, earning the nickname 'the holy helper in financial matters.'
