Religious Holidays and Their History

Memory Day of Saint Cyprian

Saint Cyprian lived in the III century in Antioch. Before converting to Christianity, he was a well-known pagan sorcerer and wizard. His meeting with the Christian Justina became a turning point, after which he repented, joined the church, and became a bishop.

Cyprian dedicated his life to serving the church, actively preaching and exposing paganism. During the persecutions of Christians, he was arrested, brutally tortured, and executed for refusing to renounce Christ. His life path became a symbol of the victory of faith over evil and the power of repentance.

Prayers of the Day

O, Saint Cyprian, our protector and faithful servant of Christ! Help us in faith, defend us from enemies, and keep us from temptations. I ask for forgiveness of sins and strength in troubles.

Amen
