Poland is preparing to launch the MOS service, through which foreigners, including Ukrainians, will be able to apply for a CUKR card. Along with this, new rules and obligations are arising for holders of this document. inPoland writes about it.

CUKR Card in Poland: What Changes for Ukrainians

After obtaining the CUKR card, the temporary protection status of UKR automatically ceases. This means losing part of the social guarantees previously provided to Ukrainians.

Instead, card holders receive other rights:

  • access to state benefits on general terms

  • the possibility of legal residence under the new status

  • participation in assistance systems similar to other foreigners.

Responsibilities of Ukrainians After Obtaining the CUKR Card: What Needs to Be Considered

Along with new rights, obligations arise that must be fulfilled to avoid losing status.

Main requirements:

  • notify the voivode about a change of residence within 15 working days

  • not to leave Poland for more than 6 months

  • collect the completed card within 60 days after notification.

If these conditions are not met, the residence permit may be revoked.

In particular, in case of long absence from the country or untimely collection of the document, the CUKR card loses its validity, and the permit will have to be re-applied for following the general procedure.

The launch of the MOS service is expected to simplify the document submission process. Polish authorities expect the new system to operate soon and allow for quicker status processing for foreigners.

Recall that the Office for Foreigners in Poland reported cases of unscrupulous intermediaries offering paid "services" for submitting applications for residence cards marked CUKR.
