In Ukraine, teenagers can officially work even before reaching adulthood, provided that the requirements of labor legislation are met. During the summer season, employers actively search for students and schoolchildren for seasonal jobs, with some offers providing a salary of up to 40 thousand hryvnias per month. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the State Employment Service.
Jobs for minors in Ukraine: at what age can you get employed
According to Article 188 of the Labor Code, one can officially work in Ukraine from the age of 16.
At the same time, the law provides exceptions:

from 15 years old - with the written consent of one of the parents or legal representative;

from 14 years old - for students in their free time from studies, if the work is light, does not harm health, and does not interfere with learning.
The State Employment Service notes that from January to May 2026, 250 young people under the age of 18 have used its services. Of these, 150 have already found work, while 47 were registered as unemployed.
Most often, minors were employed as waiters, bartenders, cooks, and salespeople.
Job opportunities for students in summer 2026: where they pay up to 40 thousand hryvnias
According to the employment service, as of June 23, there were 82 job offers for students with a salary of up to 40 thousand hryvnias available on the Unified Job Portal.
During the summer period, there is the highest demand for such workers:

waiters;

bartenders;

salespeople;
-
landscapers;

packers;
-
workers of farms;
-
strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry pickers;

ice cream makers;
-
forestry workers;
-
road workers;
-
fruit and vegetable workers.
The State Employment Service reminds that schoolchildren and students can contact its specialists who help find temporary seasonal jobs or job offers that can be combined with studies.
