In Ukraine, starting from May 1, 2026, the monetary support for military personnel will remain unchanged. All existing allowances, bonuses, and surcharges will continue to operate under current regulations. This is reported by Obozrevatel.
Military Salaries 2026: Which Allowances Are Retained
The amount of additional payments is determined by legislation and Government Resolution No. 168. Depending on the conditions of service, military personnel receive various monthly allowances.
Main allowances:

30,000 UAH — for performing combat or special tasks;

50,000 UAH — for military personnel in command structures and management;

100,000 UAH — for participation in combat operations, during treatment after injury, or while in captivity;

70,000 UAH — allowance for being on the front line for a month.
These payments are added to the basic monetary support, which depends on the position, rank, and length of service.
Monetary Support for Military Personnel: What Determines Salary
The basic salary of military personnel is formed from several components. It is not a fixed sum and changes depending on individual service parameters.
The main components include:

salary based on position — determined by the position held;

salary by military rank — depends on rank, regardless of position;

length of service allowance — from 5% for one year of service to 50% for 25 years or more.
The amount of payments does not depend on whether the military is a contractor or mobilized — the key factors are the position, rank, and length of service.
Military personnel receive their first monetary support one month after mobilization or signing the contract. The payment is made in one sum without division into advance and main part.
In addition to monthly income, additional types of assistance are also provided. In particular, an annual health assistance payment is made in the amount of a monthly salary. Payments for solving social and household issues in case of injury or illness are also possible.
Separate payments are provided after signing the first contract — from 24,224 to 30,280 UAH depending on rank. For participants of the program “Contract 18-24”, the amount can reach 1 million UAH. Contractors also receive assistance when transferring to another garrison.
Thus, the system of monetary support for military personnel in 2026 remains stable, and the level of income is determined by the conditions of service and the tasks performed.
