Working professions in Ukraine are increasingly outpacing office professions in terms of salary levels. In June 2026, the salaries of certain builders and drivers reached 60–73 thousand hryvnias per month. The highest salary offers were for plasterers, according to «Dim».
Who offers the highest salaries
The highest rates were recorded among job vacancies for plasterers. The average monthly salary for these specialists in June was 73 thousand hryvnias.
Tile setters and facade specialists were offered an average of 70 thousand hryvnias. Long-haul drivers and painters could expect around 65 thousand hryvnias, while car body fillers received offers of about 60 thousand hryvnias.
The salary of a specific worker may vary depending on the region, experience, qualifications, schedule, and complexity of the work. Long-haul drivers may also be offered pay based on the number of trips and the duration of their stay abroad.
Why workers' salaries are rising
The main reason cited for the increase in salaries is the critical shortage of qualified personnel. Employers find it difficult to find experienced professionals who can be quickly engaged in work without additional training.
The lack of workers is particularly acute in construction, repair, transport, and technical maintenance. Companies are forced to compete for specialists, raise pay, and offer additional conditions, including housing, meals, travel compensation, or bonuses.
At the same time, these amounts should be perceived as benchmarks for job offers from employers. Actual income may vary depending on workload, travel compensation, and the number of hours worked.
It is worth noting that the minimum salary in Ukraine is twice less than in Moldova.
