At the Ukraine Business News event, the National Bank of Ukraine's forecast for 2026 was announced. According to its data, inflation has been decreasing for six consecutive months, and this trend is expected to continue in the future. In November, inflation fell to 9.3%, which is slightly below the bank's forecast. It is expected that new harvests and the actions of the NBU to support the hryvnia and stability in the currency market will contribute to further reduction of inflation.

The NBU plans to lower the key rate depending on external financing. Obtaining international assistance is crucial for Ukraine, as it guarantees the stability of the currency market. If risks decrease, the bank may start a cycle of reducing the key rate.

'Maintaining the stability of the currency market is one of the main tasks of the NBU.'

The NBU also plans to support the flexibility of the exchange rate, allowing for its devaluation or revaluation. However, the bank will prevent dangerous fluctuations in the rate to ensure price stability.

The NBU is actively working on easing currency restrictions by pursuing liberalization. Currently, currency regulation does not affect new investments in Ukraine.

The NBU presented its forecast regarding the economic situation in Ukraine for the next year, highlighting the reduction of inflation and support for the currency market as priority tasks. The bank plans to maintain a stable hryvnia exchange rate, lower the key rate, and liberalize currency regulation to attract new investments to the country.
