Anastasiia Blazhchuk Makes Her Debut at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater

Anastasiia Blazhchuk, the partner of the Ivan Franko Theater's General Director Yevhen Nyshchuk, has made her debut on its stage. The 35-year-old actress, originally from Vinnytsia, is a graduate of the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, where she studied under Valentina Zimnia. She is a company member of the Young Theatre and is raising two children with Nyshchuk. The Ivan Franko Theater is one of Ukraine's most prestigious and historic cultural institutions.

Career and Recent Work

Blazhchuk is actively involved in at least five productions at the Young Theatre. She has recently begun collaborating with the Ivan Franko Theater on a project-by-project contractual basis. One of her first roles there is Khvesia in the play 'Comedy on the Ruins,' directed by Petro Ilchenko. Previous actresses to portray Khvesia include:

Although not formally married, Blazhchuk and Nyshchuk are raising a son and a daughter together; Nyshchuk shared photos with the children on social media in 2024. Blazhchuk also participated in the social initiative 'No One Is Indifferent,' where actors recorded video appeals in front of Kyiv buildings damaged by Russian shelling. Furthermore, she was named one of the top ten character actresses on the Ukrainian stage by the publication 'Glavcom.'
