Laura Loomer Stands with Ukraine
American journalist and MAGA influencer Laura Loomer, known for her support of former President Donald Trump, has openly backed Ukraine and called for increased sanctions and pressure on Russia. Loomer condemned the purchase of Russian oil and dismissed accusations against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. She labeled Vladimir Putin a Russian dictator and claimed his actions have surpassed those of the terrorist group ISIS.
A Call for Action
Loomer emphasized Zelensky's efforts to protect civilians from Russian attacks and rejected attempts to hold the Ukrainian president responsible for prolonging the conflict. She referenced Zelensky’s July interview at Mariinsky Palace, where he expressed willingness to hold elections once Russian assaults cease.

She also endorsed the imposition of sanctions against Russia, describing them as a necessary measure.
Loomer pointed out that Trump had previously opposed buying Russian oil and welcomed the announcement of an energy ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war. Nevertheless, she expressed skepticism about Russia’s commitment to the truce, stating, “Russia broke the 72-hour ceasefire agreement without facing any consequences.”
She further highlighted that Moscow violated the energy ceasefire on the very day it was agreed upon.
During her July visit to Ukraine, Loomer conducted interviews with energy workers sheltering from Russian drone attacks. President Zelensky reiterated his readiness to hold elections if Russia agrees to a full ceasefire lasting at least 60 days. This came after Trump suggested Ukrainians should elect a new leader to negotiate peace. Zelensky also mentioned that the energy ceasefire announcement was unexpected news to him.
Loomer’s statements underscore the backing Ukraine receives from certain American political figures and activists, despite some circles traditionally favoring Russia. Her comments also work to separate responsibility for the war from Ukraine’s leadership, portraying Zelensky as a peace-seeking leader.
