In July, as meteorologists predicted, a strong heatwave hit Ukraine. Forecaster Igor Kibalchich spoke about the weather in Ukraine for the upcoming week. According to the expert's forecast, anomalously hot weather is expected in the coming days due to the influx of a subtropical air mass from the Balkan Peninsula and the regions of the North Caucasus.
The forecaster also noted that against the backdrop of the heat, convective activity will develop, leading to thunderstorms, locally with hail and squally winds. This will be facilitated by a relatively lowered background of atmospheric pressure.

Monday, July 7: hot weather is expected across the entire territory of Ukraine. No precipitation at night, during the day and in the evening, thunderstorms with possible hail and gusts of 17-22 m/s will pass over the western, Cherkasy, and Kyiv regions. Temperature at night +15...+22°C, during the day +29...+34°C, in the central and southern regions and Transcarpathia locally +35...+37°C.
Tuesday, July 8: unstable weather with thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall is expected in the western and northern regions. Hail and gusts of 17-22 m/s are possible in the western part. Temperature at night +17...+22°C, during the day +29...+34°C, in the central and southern regions +33...+38°C.
Wednesday, July 9: thunderstorms will remain in the western regions and Kyiv region with possible hail and gusts of 15-20 m/s. Dry hot weather will prevail in the rest of the territory. In the central, southern, and eastern regions, daytime temperatures will reach +34...+39°C.
Thursday, July 10: rainy weather is expected only in the western regions with heavy showers and thunderstorms. In other regions, anomalously hot dry weather will continue with temperatures of +34...+39°C.
Friday, July 11: under the influence of a slow-moving cyclone, unstable weather with short rains will cover most of Ukraine, except for the southern regions. Heavy rains are possible in the western part. Temperature in most regions +34...+39°C.
Saturday and Sunday: thunderstorms will pass locally in some regions, but hot weather with temperatures up to +39°C in the southeastern part of the country will remain.
It should be noted that the year 2024 became a record year for temperature indicators - the average temperature on Earth exceeded pre-industrial levels by 1.5°C. Extreme weather events have increased, and over the next hundred years, the temperature is at risk of rising another 2.7°C, putting Ukraine on the brink of ecological disaster.
The weather forecast for next week in Ukraine suggests a continuation of the heat with thunderstorms and possible hail. Daytime air temperatures may reach values up to +39°C, indicating anomalously hot weather typical of subtropical latitudes. According to the forecast, the influence of a slow-moving cyclone will lead to short-term rains across almost the entire territory of the country.
