The state PESEL register has already recorded such names:

  • Prometheus

  • Artemis

  • Zeus

  • Eros

  • Hera

  • Ares.

For some parents, the meaning of the name, which has deep historical and cultural roots, is key. Others strive to make their child stand out among peers.

Names for Children in Poland: What Are the Most Common Choices?

Despite the new wave of interest in antiquity, experts do not expect radical changes in the coming years. Traditional Polish names remain dominant.

Among the most popular:

  • Zofia

  • Zuzanna

  • Nikodem

  • Jan.

At the same time, the trend for original names is gradually gaining momentum and may expand.

Experts note that modern parents have more freedom in choosing a name than before. This opens up the possibility of referring to historical eras and cultural traditions that were previously unused.

As a result, the name market is becoming more diverse: alongside classic options, rare and symbolic names from ancient mythology are emerging.
