The engineering brigade in the Sumy region is constructing 'anti-drone tunnels'
Recently, engineers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces support department have been actively building protective 'anti-drone tunnels' along the border in the Sumy region. This is necessary to protect against FPV drones, which can create serious problems on the battlefield, reported the General Staff.
'Anti-drone tunnels' are designed to ensure the safe passage of military equipment, soldiers, the wounded, and civilian vehicles in the conflict zone. These structures consist of strong nets that form an effective barrier against kamikaze drones.
'To build underground shelters with side and top protection, we need a lot of material. The volume of the lightweight structure depends on its length and dimensions, so the total area can reach several thousand square meters,' explained Captain Vitaliy Kosobutskiy, who works at the site with the brigade.
Reducing the fire impact of drones
These 'anti-drone tunnels' help reduce the military impact of FPV drones. Military engineers have built several dozen kilometers of such tunnels along the border to ensure safety for equipment and soldiers.
