Apple introduced the iPhone 17e with MagSafe support: what does the new model offer

Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 17e — a budget version in the iPhone 17 series with MagSafe support, a new A19 processor, and a 48 MP camera. The base configuration starts with 256 GB of storage, and prices in the US begin at $599. This was reported by LIGA.net.

The smartphone features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with new Ceramic Shield 2 protective glass. According to the company, it is three times more resistant to scratches compared to the previous version and better minimizes glare.

iPhone 17e specifications: processor, screen, and charging

The model runs on the A19 chip manufactured with a 3nm technology process. It includes:

  • 6-core processor

  • 4-core graphics with hardware ray tracing

  • 16-core Neural Engine for artificial intelligence tasks.

According to Apple, the new model is up to twice as fast as the iPhone 11.

The body is made of aerospace-grade aluminum, with protection against water and dust according to the IP68 standard. The smartphone supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W. Through USB-C, the device can be charged to 50% in about 30 minutes.

iPhone 17e camera and satellite services

The main camera — 48 MP Fusion with the ability to shoot 24 MP by default and 2× optical zoom without loss of quality. Video recording is available in 4K with Dolby Vision up to 60 frames per second, spatial audio, and an updated portrait mode with depth editing after shooting.

The iPhone 17e is equipped with a C1X modem, which operates up to twice as fast as the previous C1 and consumes 30% less energy. It also supports satellite services Emergency SOS, Messages via satellite, Roadside Assistance, and Find My for connectivity outside coverage areas.

The new model is available in black, white, and light pink colors with a matte finish.

Let us remind you that the first folding iPhone could appear as early as September 2026. Analysts predict that the new model will be a premium version with a record price, and Apple may name it the iPhone Ultra.
