David Arakhamia’s Statement on the Interior Ministry Situation

David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction, has confirmed that Ukraine’s parliament is not currently considering the resignation of Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko. This statement came in response to a draft resolution—introduced by lawmakers Yuliia Yatsyk, Serhiy Rudyk, and Mykola Halushko—calling for Klimenko’s removal. The proposal was published on the parliament’s website following a terrorist attack in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district.

Arakhamia dismissed attempts to politicize the matter as 'completely groundless.' He noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had responded promptly to the incident, drawn necessary conclusions, and initiated internal procedures. 'As of now, the issue of changing the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not being considered by the Verkhovna Rada,' he added.

Reaction to the Resignation of Patrol Police Leadership

Separately, it was reported that the heads of the patrol police have stepped down, and those responsible for the attack will face prosecution. These developments have sparked widespread public debate, with lawmakers closely scrutinizing law enforcement actions.

Arakhamia’s remarks highlight the ongoing political tension surrounding the Interior Ministry, especially in the wake of the high-profile terrorist incident. The resignation of the patrol police leadership may signal internal shifts within Ukraine’s law enforcement system as it seeks to address public demands for greater security. At the same time, the Servant of the People faction appears intent on avoiding the politicization of the tragedy and focusing instead on the ministry’s operational effectiveness.

In light of the current discussions surrounding the Interior Ministry, it is essential to consider the recent developments regarding the potential dismissal of Minister Klimenko.
