A Fresh Way to Counter Unmanned Aerial Threats

On Aug. 31 at 13:31, L3Harris Technologies and ARX Robotics demonstrated the GEREON robotic ground vehicle equipped with the CORVUS-RAVEN drone-countering system. The showcase ran as part of the U.S. Army's experimental Convergence-Capstone 6 campaign. By positioning the system closer to likely threats, the Army can keep human operators at a safer distance.

How the System Works

L3Harris says CORVUS-RAVEN passively picks up signals linked to possible drone threats and supplies bearing data. It also offers an integrated electronic attack function, so no additional external hardware is needed. GEREON, ARX Robotics' modular ground vehicle, is designed to carry various payloads and can be reconfigured as tactical needs change.

The report also mentions Lockheed Martin's MORFIUS X-Rotor, which can take out more than 50 hostile drones in a single combat sortie. Thanks to its crossed-wing layout, MORFIUS X-Rotor can land and take off vertically.
