Deferment from Mobilization for Postgraduate Students in Ukraine
Postgraduate students in Ukraine have the right to deferment from mobilization, even if they are pursuing another higher education. This information was confirmed by lawyer Yuriy Aivazyan, stating that the right to deferment for postgraduate students remains valid even when studying in parallel. This is important for those who want to combine postgraduate studies with obtaining a second higher education at the bachelor level, as such activities do not cancel the right to deferment.
Procedure for Applying for Deferment
Postgraduate education is the highest level of education compared to a master's or specialist degree, which also confirms the right to deferment. Postgraduate students wishing to apply for this deferment must submit a package of documents to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC). Among the necessary documents are:
- a statement addressed to the head of the TRC;
- a certificate of the educational applicant from the Unified State Electronic Database of Education (USEDE);
- an extract from the order of enrollment in postgraduate studies;
- a copy of the military registration document;
- passport and identification code.
'Postgraduate students will not lose their right to deferment, as they obtain a sequential level of education and have not studied in postgraduate studies before.' Yuriy Aivazyan
The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 560 serves as the basis for confirming the right to deferment, which additionally emphasizes the legitimacy of such actions for postgraduate students.
This information is relevant in light of the current situation in Ukraine, where mobilization and military issues remain in the spotlight. The right to deferment for postgraduate students allows them to continue their studies and develop scientific research, which can have a positive impact on society as a whole. It is important for postgraduate students to know their rights and be able to take advantage of the opportunities provided by legislation.
