Drone Strikes in Belgorod Region Kill Soldier and Disrupt Gas Supply

Атаки безпілотників в Бєлгородській області призвели до загибелі військового та проблем із газопостачанням.

Drone Attack Targets Gas Infrastructure in Belgorod

A drone strike in Russia's Belgorod region has caused significant damage, hitting a gas distribution facility in the settlement of Borisovka. The impact triggered a major fire, forcing local authorities to implement an emergency shutdown of the gas supply. Regional Governor Gladkov confirmed that the attack resulted in the death of a soldier from the Orlan unit. These incidents are part of a wider pattern of strikes on Russian territory since the onset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

School Closures in Borisovka and a Second Strike in Tatarstan

In response to the heightened threat, officials in Borisovka have temporarily closed four schools. Four kindergartens have also been placed on an emergency schedule, operating only with on-duty groups, highlighting the perceived severity of the situation and the priority placed on child safety.

In a separate incident, drones also attacked the Kaleykino oil refinery in Tatarstan. Residents of Almetyevsk reported a series of five to seven powerful explosions, followed by a large fire in one of the city's districts. The Kaleykino station is a crucial hub for receiving and blending oil flows from Western Siberia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, and Bashkiria.

These events underscore escalating tensions in the region and the urgent need for measures to ensure public safety. The recent drone attacks on key Russian infrastructure highlight growing security threats. The loss of a soldier's life and the evacuation of children from educational institutions point to the seriousness of the situation. Amid rising tensions, local authorities must implement additional measures to protect civilians and maintain infrastructure stability.
