Kyiv Drone Attack
An overnight drone attack on Kyiv on February 5, 2026, injured two women, aged 79 and 80. The incident occurred in the Solomianskyi district, where one of the victims required hospitalization. This attack is part of a pattern of strikes on the capital that have intensified in recent months.
Extent of the Damage
The strike caused damage to 11 residential buildings across several districts of Kyiv, including:
- Darnytskyi
- Obolonskyi
- Solomianskyi
- Shevchenkivskyi
In addition to the homes, a dormitory, a kindergarten, and an office building were also damaged. Falling debris from the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) wrecked three cars.
In response to the incident, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, concerning war crimes. The investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
