Tragedy Strikes Odesa Beach
A Russian drone attack on an unofficial beach in Odesa has resulted in the death of a 26-year-old woman and injuries to a 39-year-old man. The incident occurred on June 23, while the victims were at a beach that had not been officially opened to the public. According to reports, the injured man received medical attention and will undergo outpatient treatment.
Odesa's acting mayor, Ihor Koval, expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased woman. He urged residents and visitors to use only officially designated recreation areas, noting that the beach where the tragedy occurred was not among them.
“During the air raid alert, which was announced today—including through loudspeaker warning systems—people should have immediately left the beach and the sea and headed to shelters,” said Ihor Koval.

- 12th Station of the Velykyi Fontan, with the Public complex;
- 14th Station of the Velykyi Fontan, with the Kuba complex and a communal beach in the area;
- 15th Station of the Velykyi Fontan, with the Beach-15 complex;
- 16th Station of the Velykyi Fontan, with Zolotyi Bereh and the Karma and Varadero complexes;
- A communal beach near the Yug restaurant.
City authorities are urging people to follow safety rules while at the beach, especially given the ongoing threat.
