Attack on the Kyiv Region
In the early hours of June 4, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Kyiv region. A fuel truck driver in the Boryspil district was injured during the assault and taken to a local hospital with a closed fracture of the ankle joint. Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, stated:
“He was hospitalized in a local medical facility with a closed ankle fracture. Doctors are providing all necessary care.”
The air raid siren sounded in Kyiv at 11:26 PM and was lifted at 11:56 PM. This attack follows a massive combined strike that occurred on the night of June 2, which targeted Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions. That earlier assault caused significant damage in the Kyiv region, injuring three people. The June 2 attack involved both drones and air-, sea-, and ground-launched missiles, damaging:
- residential buildings
- warehouses
- industrial facilities
- vehicles
The ongoing drone strikes on the Kyiv region highlight the continued escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. The use of attack drones signals a tactical shift, reflecting how both sides are adapting their military strategies. The resulting civilian injuries underscore the humanitarian toll on local populations and the critical need for rapid emergency medical response.
The recent drone strike is part of a troubling trend, as evidenced by another recent assault on the capital. In a significant overnight operation, multiple casualties were reported, illustrating the severe impact of ongoing military actions.
