On Saturday, August 23, due to an attack by Ukrainian drones on St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, dozens of flights at Pulkovo Airport were delayed and canceled. According to The Moscow Times, at least 77 flights were delayed and 14 were canceled, and the airport closure was announced by Rosaviatsiya to ensure flight safety.
The governor of the Leningrad region reported the downing of one UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Tosnensky district, as well as a slowdown in mobile internet speed in the southwestern areas of the region. Following this, the number of complaints about mobile phone and internet service disruptions increased, and restrictions were imposed for safety reasons.
Additionally, fires broke out at a refinery in the Rostov region and in Volgograd as a result of drone attacks. Residents were injured, and residential buildings were damaged. According to the regional governor, the attacks were also directed at an oil pumping station in the Bryansk region.
