Attack on DTEK on the night of January 7: energy equipment caught fire, no casualties reported

Нічна атака на енергетичні об'єкти DTEK: сталися пожежі, але постраждалих не зафіксовано.

Attack on Energy Infrastructure

On the night of January 7, the enemy attacked a DTEK facility in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which led to the ignition of energy equipment. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire, and no employees of the company were harmed. This attack became another test for the country's energy infrastructure amidst the war.

Efforts to Restore Electricity Supply

Throughout December, DTEK made significant efforts to restore electricity supply, bringing light back to over 5 million families. In particular, in Odesa Oblast, energy workers managed to restore power for 1.7 million families. These measures demonstrate the company's efforts under difficult winter conditions.

DTEK General Director Maxim Timchenko noted that this winter will be the most challenging for Ukrainians since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

This attack on energy infrastructure is part of systematic enemy attempts to destabilize the country, especially during winter when the demand for electricity increases. The importance of supporting and restoring energy systems becomes critical in wartime, and DTEK's efforts to restore electricity supply show the resilience of Ukrainian energy workers.

The situation indicates that energy security remains a key aspect of national security in Ukraine amidst armed conflict.
