Consequences for Troieshchyna Following Kyiv Attack
In the wake of a large-scale assault on Kyiv's critical infrastructure on the night of January 24, the Troieshchyna district faces the most severe fallout. Approximately 600 residential buildings there are currently without electricity, heating, and water. City emergency services are responding by setting up additional heating shelters, including within local schools.
This attack was part of a massive, combined Russian strike across Ukraine, which involved 375 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types. The primary focus of the assault was on Kyiv and its surrounding region, with energy infrastructure and residential areas being the intended targets. These strikes are part of a wider Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's civilian power grid, especially during the winter months.
Conditions in Troieshchyna
Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the situation in Troieshchyna is the most difficult, as residents grapple with the loss of heating, water, and power. To improve living conditions and provide aid, 145 heating points have already been established in the Desnianskyi district. Additional shelters are now being deployed, specifically at the following schools:

- School No. 293
Mobile boiler units are being directed to these educational institutions for rapid connection, and the State Emergency Service will also set up extra tented heating points.
The situation remains critical, with local authorities continuing efforts to restore utility services and provide necessary support to the population.
