Attack on Odesa region December 31

On the night of December 31, debris from an enemy drone fell in the Odesa region, resulting in the destruction of over 110 parcels in the yard of the 'Nova Poshta' terminal. The estimated cost of the destroyed shipments is 2.3 million hryvnias. According to the company's press service, all of them were destroyed, and 'Nova Poshta' is currently contacting customers to compensate for the losses.

Consequences of the attack

During the attack, six people were injured, including three children aged from seven months to 14 years. Five individuals were hospitalized, including three children. One adult is in serious condition, and the rest of the injured are in moderate condition. All the injured sustained various injuries, including an infant with inhalation poisoning.

As a result of the attack, Odesa also sustained damage to:

  • four apartment buildings;
  • at least 14 vehicles.

The building where the victims lived was damaged from the second to the sixth floor. Part of the city remained without electricity, water, and heating supply. According to the head of the Odesa regional military administration, the situation is complicated, but services are working to restore the supply.

This situation underscores the ongoing threat posed by drone attacks and their impact on the civilian population. The material damage is not only important, but also the human casualties, especially among children, raises concerns about the safety of the population in the context of the conflict. Restoring infrastructure and providing assistance to the victims remain priorities for local authorities and relevant services.
