Kyiv Under Attack: Events of June 1–2, 2026
During the night of June 1–2, 2026, Russian forces launched a strike on Kyiv, resulting in multiple casualties and widespread damage. By 11:30 a.m., the death toll had climbed to five. In response, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into what it describes as another war crime committed by Russian military personnel, under Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
