After a massive missile and drone attack on the night of December 12 to 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the consequences of the strike and called on the international community to increase support for Ukraine. According to him, the primary target of the Russians was the energy infrastructure of the southern regions, particularly Odesa.
After the attack, thousands of families were left without electricity in several regions of Ukraine. According to the President, the enemy used over 450 drones and about 30 missiles of various types, causing damage to civilian infrastructure.
Zelensky's address to the citizens of Ukraine
«These actions of Russia have nothing to do with ending the war. They want to destroy our state and cause as much pain as possible to our people. We need support in everything that will help protect lives and end this war»
Zelensky also thanked everyone who is helping to eliminate the consequences of the attack and emphasized the necessity of strengthening defense and pressure on Russia to cease the conflict. He considers this path the most effective for protecting the country and achieving a peaceful end to the war.
Information about the damage in Odesa and Mykolaiv
Odesa and Mykolaiv suffered one of the largest aerial attacks of the war. The Russians fired about 300 projectiles, targeting energy, port, gas, industrial, and civilian facilities, as well as the private sector in these cities.
The fact of such cruelty and the rapidly caught activism of Russia on the military front is deeply troubling. International support for Ukraine has once again become relevant and extremely necessary to stop the aggression and prevent future similar attacks. Zelensky calls on the world to support the country in this difficult time.
