The Australian company Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has introduced a new mobile laser weapon called Apollo with a power of up to 150 kW. This combat laser is the most accessible in the world in its class and can shoot down up to 200 drones on a single charge, without expending ammunition. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' citing Interesting Engineering.

The Apollo system has a mobile and modular design that can be fully housed in a standard 20-foot container and can operate autonomously due to its built-in power source.

The Apollo laser can destroy drones in the air within seconds, making over 200 attacks on a single charge. It can hit targets at distances of up to 3 km and blind their optics and sensors at distances of up to 15 km. EOS notes that the system has already been delivered to one of the NATO countries and has become the world's first laser of such power ready for combat use in a mobile format.

The CEO of EOS, Andreas Schwer, explained that the growing demand for inexpensive means of protection against swarm attacks has spurred the development of Apollo. Since traditional air defense systems and missile complexes are very expensive to use against large numbers of cheap drones, laser weapons have become an effective solution due to the lack of need to expend precious ammunition.

Conclusion: The Australian company EOS has introduced a new mobile laser weapon, Apollo, which can easily eliminate drones due to its high power and efficiency. This combat laser is an innovative solution for protection against swarm attacks and could significantly impact the development of modern defense systems.
