Equipment aimed at reinforcing energy infrastructure
Ukraine's Ministry of Energy says that power companies in the Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions have received new equipment thanks to backing from Austria's Federal Ministry of the Interior. The shipments include power transformers for the Chernivtsi and Chernihiv areas, while the Kyiv region received a diesel generator together with supporting auxiliary gear.
The purpose is to provide backup electricity for critical infrastructure and regional energy facilities. In addition, 6.33 metric tons of humanitarian cargo from Switzerland were sent from Ministry of Energy emergency aid hubs to Chernihiv region. That shipment comprises:
- a diesel generator mounted on a trailer,
- a stationary diesel generator,
- six portable petrol generators supplied by TETRA LAVAL INTERNATIONAL SA.
This assistance is expected to help repair and modernize electricity networks and to prepare the power system for the coming autumn and winter months.
