New Driver Employment Verification System for Truck and Bus Companies Launches March 16

Запуск нової системи перевірки зайнятості водіїв для транспортних компаній розпочнеться 16 березня.

Large-Scale Testing Begins for Automated Driver Employment Verification

A large-scale pilot of an automated system to verify the employment status of truck and bus drivers is launching in Ukraine. This initiative is part of the Unified Complex of Information Systems and is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development. The system will automatically cross-reference driver data from transport companies' license files with the registries of the State Tax Service.

This move is part of broader efforts to modernize Ukraine's transportation sector and align its practices with European standards. The updated system is scheduled to go live on March 16, 2024. From that date, transport company owners will be able to check their drivers' formal employment status via their personal online accounts. This innovation aims to increase transparency in the transportation sector and ensure compliance with the law.

“Following the launch of the update, confirmed official employment will become a mandatory condition for carriers to perform transportation services for license holders.”

Furthermore, Ukrtransbezpeka has previously begun implementing the eInspector system, which also contributes to modernizing industry processes. The next phase will involve a complete shift from paper permits to QR codes, along with the integration of data from smart tachographs. This is expected to further streamline transport oversight.

Consequently, the new automated driver employment verification system is intended not only to improve conditions for legitimate businesses but also to enhance road safety.

The Significance of Automated Employment Verification

The introduction of automated driver employment checks is a significant step in reforming Ukraine's transport sector. It is designed to help reduce the number of illegal transportation operations and increase the overall level of road safety, which is particularly relevant given current challenges. It is hoped that the new system will contribute to the stable development of the industry and better conditions for all market participants.
