Vehicle Handed Over to Ukraine's Defenders
Myroslav Shtyber, the father of Daniel Shtyber—a Polish volunteer who died fighting for Ukraine in 2022 as a member of the International Legion of Territorial Defense—has donated a car to Ukrainian forces. Following his son's death, Myroslav Shtyber continued his humanitarian efforts, supplying medical equipment, evacuation stretchers, and other aid.
The vehicle, originally purchased together with Daniel, was handed over to support Ukrainian troops. Myroslav Shtyber stated:
'The final decision was to donate the car. Daniel and I bought it together, and he used it as well. It matters to me that this vehicle continues to serve Ukrainian soldiers and assist them on the front lines.' - Myroslav Shtyber
This gesture highlights the father's ongoing commitment to Ukraine's defenders despite his personal loss.
Daniel Shtyber's Volunteer Work
Before joining the legion, Daniel Shtyber was actively involved in volunteer missions. According to Myroslav Shtyber:
'My son traveled with humanitarian convoys. I organized the aid, and he accompanied them. Over time, he began moving closer to the front.' - Myroslav Shtyber
After his death, Daniel was buried with full military honors at the Stare Powązki cemetery in Warsaw.
Myroslav Shtyber also emphasized the importance of Ukrainian-Polish relations, stating: 'I believe we must protect Ukrainian-Polish ties. Only together can we be strong. Acting separately weakens us, while cooperation offers a chance for development and security for both nations.'
This case not only reflects a father's personal dedication to his son's memory but also underscores the significance of cross-border support against shared threats. The military and humanitarian collaboration between Poland and Ukraine opens new avenues for partnership, which could prove critical for regional security.
