Basic Social Support Payments to Be Issued by End of February: Eligibility and Amounts

Фінансова допомога з соціальної підтримки буде надана до кінця лютого: умови отримання та суми виплат.

Social Support for Ukrainian Families

Ukrainian families will receive the next installment of basic social support by the end of February. The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine announced that the minimum payment is set at 4,500 hryvnias. This program provides aid to low-income families facing difficult life circumstances. This initiative is part of Ukraine's ongoing social safety net efforts during a period of significant economic strain.

The payment consolidates several smaller social assistance programs and is granted for a six-month period. Support can be extended upon expiration until the conclusion of the experimental project. Applications can be submitted via the Diia app, requiring an ID card, biometric passport, or a verified tax number. The final assistance amount is calculated individually, based on family size and their aggregate income over three months.

Eligibility Requirements for Assistance

A family of four, consisting of parents and two children where the father has a disability, can expect a monthly payment of approximately 12,800 hryvnias for half a year. The program is not available to individuals with bank savings exceeding 100,000 hryvnias, those who purchased real estate, foreign currency, or securities within the last year, or to people who own multiple cars. For applications processed in 2026, funds will be deposited by the 25th of each month, with the crediting period running from the 4th to the 25th.

This social support program is a vital tool designed to aid the most vulnerable segments of the population amidst economic hardship.

Given the rising cost of living, support for families with children is particularly crucial, as it can significantly ease their financial burden. It is also important that the program establishes clear eligibility criteria, which can help prevent misuse and ensure the effective allocation of state funds.
