Ukrainian drivers learned in June about fuel prices that skyrocketed. They are now paying several hryvnias more for a liter of diesel and A-95 gasoline than they are used to. Why did this happen? Experts explain immediately: The conflict in the Middle East has not remained without influence on the global energy market.

In the first days of June, after Israel's strikes on Iran, the markets reacted swiftly - prices for Brent crude oil jumped by 13%, exceeding 78 dollars per barrel. This was the largest spike since 2022 and made Ukrainians feel the consequences of the incident.

The cost of fuel continues to soar crazily. According to the consulting group A-95, the price of diesel and A-95 gasoline has significantly increased. Thus, if before all the noise the average price of diesel was 52.5 hryvnias per liter, by June 24 it rose to 55.96 hryvnias. The price of A-95 gasoline increased from 54.59 to 58.90 hryvnias, and premium gasoline even rose from 58.89 to 63.12 hryvnias per liter.

Even when global oil prices are falling, fuel prices at Ukrainian gas stations remain high. The director of the A-95 company explains this by the peculiarities of the European oil products market, where prices can jump after a temporary decrease. Therefore, car owners will have to tighten their belts and prepare for new expenses at the gas stations.

Ukrainian drivers are forced to face the rapid rise in fuel prices, which began due to geopolitical events in the Middle East. Prices for diesel and A-95 gasoline have rapidly risen, making car trips significantly more expensive for the population.
