Application Period for Free Modular Grain Storage in Ukraine
Ukraine has launched the application period for obtaining free modular grain storage for farmers. This initiative will cover the need for storing up to 100,000 tons of grain, which is extremely relevant for domestic producers. The storage modules have a capacity of 1000 tons each and will be provided as part of a program implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with financial support from the Government of Canada.
Conditions for Participation in the Program
The application period will last until January 31, 2026, and the program has a regional focus on:
- Poltava Oblast
- Rivne Oblast
- Volyn Oblast
- Zhytomyr Oblast
Producers who cultivate a land bank of 200 to 1000 hectares can participate in the program. This measure aims to improve the situation with grain storage, which is particularly critical for rye producers.
“The introduction of such modular grain storage will not only improve storage efficiency but also increase production volumes in the agricultural sector.” - Denys Bashlyk
Thus, the program creates new opportunities for farmers who will be able to store their harvests without significant infrastructure costs. This program is an important step in supporting the agricultural sector of Ukraine, especially in the context of global challenges and instability faced by farmers.
Given the critical need for grain storage, especially during the harvest period, the new modular grain storage may significantly improve the situation by providing farmers with the necessary infrastructure. It is also important that the initiative is supported by international partners such as the Government of Canada, which indicates interest in the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector at the international level.
