Evacuated from Donbas will receive long-term medical support: how it works

Люди, які втекли з Донбасу, отримують тривалу медичну допомогу: як це реалізовано.

The charitable foundation 'Vostok SOS' together with the Ministry of Social Policy took on the medical support of elderly people evacuated from the combat zone. A total of 20 elderly individuals will receive assistance in long-term medical support at the Selidivka City Central Hospital located in the Odesa region.

Foundation crews worked side by side with colleagues from other cities in the Donetsk region to evacuate people with disabilities aged from 63 to 88 years. Among them is 89-year-old woman Antonina Grigorevna.

After undergoing comprehensive medical, physical, and psychological rehabilitation, these people will be transferred to a supported living and stationary care program based on the principle 'money follows the person' from the Ministry.

Additionally, the 'Vostok SOS' foundation is currently actively assisting internally displaced persons, providing them with a continuous chain of assistance from rescue crews to accepting institutions. Thus, every person can feel safe and receive proper care.

Moreover, the foundation has also joined the initiative to restore social infrastructure together with the Ministry, particularly in the reconstruction of buildings for stationary care in various regions of Ukraine.
