Training of the 'Fury' Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine

The 'Fury' Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine has welcomed new reinforcements: 35 soldiers have successfully completed an 80-day Basic General Military Training (BGMT) course. This comprehensive program was structured into three phases, covering individual skills, specialized instruction, and the coordination of small tactical units.

Phases of the Training Program

The first phase focused on individual training, which included:

  • Tactics
  • Firearms training
  • Tactical medicine
  • Engineering skills
  • Communications
  • Military topography

The second phase was specialized, where soldiers mastered various weapon systems—from small arms to grenade launchers—and practiced counter-drone operations. The third phase involved the synchronization of small tactical groups in conditions closely simulating real combat, including operations in urban environments, trenches, and forested areas both day and night, with the use of armored vehicles and modern surveillance equipment.

Each phase concluded with assessment exercises to evaluate the soldiers' proficiency levels.

The completion of this Basic General Military Training course underscores the ongoing enhancement of military skills and personnel readiness within the unit. This milestone is crucial for maintaining combat effectiveness and adapting to modern challenges, especially in the context of hybrid warfare. Well-trained soldiers are better equipped to carry out missions in demanding combat situations, thereby strengthening the nation's overall defense capabilities.

The recent enhancements in military training reflect a broader trend in the Ukrainian armed forces, as seen in the revamped focus on critical skills like marksmanship and drone operations. This shift is essential for adapting to contemporary warfare dynamics.
