Rescue efforts for residents
For roughly four weeks, the White Angels special police detachment has been conducting evacuation runs across Kharkiv Oblast. So far, more than 140 civilians have been brought to safer ground, including 13 children and 29 people with reduced mobility. With the situation growing riskier, officers are pressing residents to leave without hesitation, stressing that personal safety must come first.
Anyone who needs help can use the following police contact lines:
- +38 (067) 177-07-40
- +38 (095) 285-70-12
- emergency line "102"
"Stay alive—do not wait until it is too late," police warn those still in dangerous areas.
Why leaving now matters
In a combat zone, evacuating residents—especially children and people with limited mobility—is one of the most effective ways to shield them from harm. Since the frontline remains highly volatile, local authorities and police are urging people to take proactive steps to protect their own lives and well-being. The White Angels unit says it will keep assisting residents and providing clear information on how to reach safe departure points.
