More than three thousand Hasidim have already arrived in Uman for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. According to the PR director of the International Charity Foundation named after Rabbi Nachman, Anastasiya Baryshnikova, this year up to 50 thousand believers are expected. The local authorities are preparing for the influx of pilgrims, taking security and control measures.
The celebrations have also mobilized local entrepreneurs. Svitlana Vasylenko opened a store with essential goods, hoping for demand from the guests. Also, considering the proximity to the military checkpoint, she expects purchases from Ukrainian soldiers.
